Völkl racquets

German company Völkl was founded in 1880. However, it took almost a century until Völkl turned to building tennis racquets, the first one was introduced in 1972. This racquet, the Zebra, back then was the first full composite tennis racquet on the market. In the late 70‘s the Servo Soft model became the best selling racquet in Germany and the new measure for comfort. Völkl became the market leader in Germany and sold more than 300,000 Servo Soft frames. In the 80‘s Völkl became one of the major contenders in Europe due to it‘s dominant market shares in Germany and Switzerland. The introduction of the World Cup Series in 1985 showed Völkl‘s committment to competitive and professional level of players.
