Besides Donnay, Snauwaert and Wilson, Dunlop was one of the major racquet producers in the wood racquet era. Their Dunlop Maxply Fort turned out to be one of the most popular and widespread wood racquet ever. This racquet was used by many tennis professionals, the most famous of which propably was John McEnroe. There were a lot of different Maxply versions. McEnroe played a modified Maxply Fort in 1981 and 1982. In 1982, the Maxply McEnroe was launched, a racquet that combined the accuracy of wood with the increased power and durability of fibreglass. McEnroe used this racquet in 1982 and 1983, before entering the graphite racquet era by playing the new Max 200G later on in 1983. He kept on playing the Max 200G until the end of his career in 1992.

!!! The ONE MILLIONTH Max 200G was sold by Dunlop in early 1989 !!!
